The bathroom disaster!

Well, it has happened yet again. Yesterday we received a call from Lowes telling us that all of our cabinets were in. We were so excited that they came in because that meant my dad could help us put them in this weekend. David and I went to Lowes tonight to pick them up. As the man was pulling our pallet around the corner, we both started laughing in disbelief. There on the side of our pallet was our kick plate board ( piece that goes on the bottom of the cabinets all the way across) totally bent in half. When we opened the box, it was broke in two. We then called up to the front our order specialist, Erica. She has been so nice to us. We opened the other boxes together to discover a mirror that looked like they just threw on some stain, there were drip marks all along the side. Then we opened the drawer cabinet to discover yet again....crap. At this point we stopped opening boxes and I really just wanted to cry and throw up. I knew at this point I would be going yet another month without a bathroom. After talking to the manager, we have now ordered a better cabinet brand which they are paying the difference for and they are going to deliver it to our house. So, hopefully in another month, I will be able to post pictures of our finished bathroom. As for the next home project, I think we might be going to Home Depot.

My Crazy August

I know it has been a long time since my last post, but the madness around here never ends. The first week in August my girlfriends and I took our kids and stayed at a house on Isle of the Palms in SC. It was such a beautiful beach and the kids had so much fun playing together. I will fill you in more on that with the pictures.

School is starting soon and my school still doesn't have a principal assigned and we are not allowed in until 3 days before Open House. Those of you who know me can understand how much stress I am feeling at this point. My dining room is filled to the brim with all my school stuff waiting to go back along with stuff I am working on for the new year. This mess is also driving me crazy!

Standing along side the piles of school stuff are boxes for our bathroom cabinets. The bathroom redo has taken a very bad turn since I last wrote. We were so excited when the cabinets came in. Our happiness faded fast once we started opening the boxes. Out of all the stuff we ordered only one mirror was not damaged. Every cabinet had a crack in the wood or the finish wasn't stained on right. The hutch we ordered for the wall literally fell apart in David's hands as he was taking it out of the box. The staples were not even in the wood. We have since been back to Lowe's and they have ordered us all new stuff. So, we have now been going on our second round of 21 days of waiting for cabinets. Having only one main bathroom is starting to drive us crazy. My only gripe is that Lowe's didn't offer us any apologizes or discounts. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens when the new stuff comes in.

My children have been wanting frogs all summer. On Sunday we went to the pet store and purchased two frogs. Unfortunately there were only 2 in the tank, one had a broken arm from getting stuck in the filter. Lauren felt sorry for it and wanted us to take care of him. Sadly, on Monday night, we were back at the pet store to get an exchange. Then last night, our fish of 2 years died.

On top of all these events, baseball and softball season has started. We have been at the ball fields every night this week. Our summer is definitely over and we are slowly getting used to the busy days and nights again. Thank goodness Grandma will be coming next week to help out. I am excited to have a good dinner instead of the usual bowl of cereal.
