Telephone Museum

After a year and a half of trying to find the place......we did it!!! Turns out the telephone museum had been closed for renovations for the past year and a half. We went with our friends, Kate, Hayden, and Campbell Jones. Hayden has been in my class for kindergarten and first grade. We had a great time learning about how the telephone started from Morse code, to having to use operators to now with text messaging. I had to teach the kids how to use a rotary phone, they couldn't believe phones used to look like that. The museum brought back so many childhood memories from the Mickey Mouse phone, the huge cordless phones, to the days of going to my dad's telephone office in Albion. The people who run the museum are actually the founders of Comporium. The Vice President was actually our tour guide. It was a fun time and I hope all my friends find time to attend this cool place.....hint hint Jackie. :)

July 4th

We had a great July 4th weekend. On Saturday we invited our friends, Luke, Kevin, and Lori over for dinner. We had a great dinner of grilled chicken, grilled potatoes and brownies. We played corn hole and sat around the fire pit until 1:30. On Sunday, we lazily hung around the house. We did some pop its, sparklers, etc. and then watched the fireworks in the neighborhood.

Skating

On Wednesday we got to go back to Kate's Skate for a birthday party. I was so happy when Alex got the invitation. I just love to skate. Of course I was the only mom out there skating the whole time. Lauren did much better this time and only fell 5 times. Alex only fell a couple which he blamed on the other kids getting in his way. I, of course, did not fall at all. :) It was a fun 3 hours and we can't wait to go back!
