We have had a very busy last couple of weeks around here. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with just the 4 of us, then Jackie and I got up extra early ( 2:30 am ) and braved the crowds on Black Friday. It was fun even though I didn't get much shopping done that day. I just love looking for a bargain and being up and shopping at that crazy hour. We also had Bella the bunny back at our house for about 2 weeks. We just love that little bunny. She is becoming more brave now and "owning" a little piece of this house. She now hops onto the couch to relax even if you are not there. We can't wait until this summer when we can play with her every day.
Then began the busy month of December. Work is so hectic. I know it hard to believe for those non teachers out there, but you have no idea how much paperwork and planning goes into our lessons, plus all the stuff we have to do for the office. I have been so swamped with work lately, my Christmas shopping was just finished today and I haven't even made any cookies yet! This is so not like me.
Last weekend we spent the weekend at Myrtle Beach with Dawn and Gerald. We stayed at a new hotel called The Dunes. It was wonderful for the kiddos. They had so much for them to do. Water slides, shuffleboard, ping pong, magic shows, etc. You won't be able to tell from the pictures, but I actually did get in the water also. I did not go on the water slides though. As you can see from the pictures the big red one took their breath away. We exchanged gifts and I was so thrilled to get some cute Christmas plates and a blanket with my name on it!!! I never get anything with my name on it, go figure. Lauren and Alex got a football basket that was filled with everything they would need such as eye black, flags, cones, play board, wristbands, and best of all receiver gloves. You would have though Lauren got a million dollars when she opened them. She has wanted a pair for awhile, and now she wears them all the time. Someday I will get my girl.....:) Dawn and Gerald even watched the kids so David and I could go out to dinner. It was so nice, thank you!
Tomorrow I plan to bake cookies all day and finally enjoy the season. It will be over before I know it. Merry Christmas to everyone!!
