Spring is Here

Spring is here! What better way to celebrate than to have a party! The hubby is out of town so the kids and I decided to have a party. I invited over my closest girlfriends for a girls night in. I had to have my pink tablecloth and purple plates since that is something we never see around here. We enjoyed strawberry margaritas, buffalo chicken sandwiches, chicken roll ups, chips and dip, and some wonderful chocolate covered strawberries from Jackie and delicious chocolate mix from Jodi. The kids had their own party room upstairs. Alex's room had the food table, and they used the playroom to play star wars, football, etc. Us girls had some fun with a chocolate exchange and a game of ring the bell which led to some interesting discussions. I just want to thank my friends again for all they do for me. They are always there when I need someone to watch my kids or just to listen when I need advice. Thank you so much for a wonderful fun night!

A Busy Week

It has been another busy week around the Murillo house, hence the lack of postings. Baseball/softball season has started along with the last week of basketball so it has been fun. On top of that, our main computer that we use with all my pictures got a virus and was put out of commission. My wonderful husband, who can fix anything these days, got it back to normal within only 3 days. This week I will be able to post some more pics. We also heard this week that, if not given more money, CMS is going to fire over 400 teachers for next year, starting with those that only have 1-4 years in CMS. This is only my second year, so I will need your prayers. They are going by performance first, but being only my second year, I am nervous. I wish they would have counted total teaching years overall, then I would be at year 5 and have no worries. Here's to hoping next week is full of good news!

Dr. Seuss Week

Sara and I had a blast this week celebrating Dr. Seuss. On Tuesday we had Cat in the Hat day, where we dressed up like the Cat and Thing One. On Wednesdsay we had crazy sock day. Also, Lauren's class came and read books with my class. The kids loved it. On Friday we made green egss and ham and enjoyed Bojangles biscuits with them. It was so fun. I am not going to post the kids pictures, but I wish you could have seen their faces. Too funny. I can't wait until next year when we get to do it all over again.

Alex Musical

Last night Alex had his first grade musical called Bugs. It was so crowded and hard to see Alex from where I was sitting. We had to take pics afterward. You did a great job Alex!

Night of Fun

Yahoo! We finally get to play in some real snow. At 6:15 pm the snow started to fall outside. The kids sat in chairs by the window and kept watching and waiting for the cue to get their coats on. Tonight we spent a good hour outside making snowballs, shoveling, and getting the snow off of our big evergreens in the backyard. The poor trees were toppling over. It was sort of scary getting the snow off the trees because the birds kept flying out at us. We even took a walk around the block. The snow is so mushy and wet along the sidewalks and roads. The kids thought it was neat to see the few flashes of lightning and hear the thunder. We are supposed to get around 6-8 inches total. It should be a fun snow day tomorrow!
