Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all my fellow moms out there and especially to my mom and mother in law, thanks for all you do. My family has been sweet to me this morning. They got me an Old Navy gift card and a gift card for a manicure and pedicure. Can't wait to use them. Later today we are off to launch a rocket that they bought last weekend. I am a little nervous about that though. Then while Lauren is at softball practice, I think I might just do a little shopping alone.

Here is the poem Lauren wrote for me at school. I guess she thinks I clean way too much. :) And just for clarification, we do have food in our house ALWAYS.

My mom is wonderful and nice
and kind and cleans the house
till it has a sparkling shine

Whatever my mom job is she
does it right but I think she
cleans both day and night

When we do not have any
food she goes out to the store
to buy some more

When I'm hungry and its time to
eat my mother gets out
a pot with mac and cheese

My mom is so loving
and nice and kind but
one thing I know she is
the best mom.

Alex made me a little book in his classroom. Here are a few quotes. " You look so beautiful when you go to church." "It makes me laugh when you tell me what your class did today." "I love it when you cook tader tots." Ok, first of all I have only cooked tater tots maybe twice in his lifetime. I do not buy those frozen foods that you just heat up in the oven. Apparently the one time he had them was memorable. " If I could give you something special it would be a new cell phone." Not sure about the last one but it was a cute book.

Hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day!

Ryan's book said he loved me because I don't scream "very much" and give him allowance. Sam's class had to write essay's about their mom for a contest at Rivergate. The prize included a dinner for two, and he said I should take you, because "Darnell probably need a night away from her kids too." He's a keeper.

Too cute! I think my son will be taking after his father in the "I can't write" department, since I got "my mom's as pretty as a rainbow" and that seems to be what the some of the other kids in his class put. The teacher must have given them that one and he couldn't think of anything on his own.
