The last two weeks have just flown by for me. I had the end of school stuff to do such as pack up my classroom and tons of paperwork. Then I also had to prepare my classroom's graduation. Sara and I were exhausted by the end of the week. The ceremony was beautiful. The kids paraded in and then began with a poem and song that even included a kickline. Then we handed out diplomas, awards, and an autograph dog that they all signed. Next it was time to watch my movie I made them. I don't think there was a dry eye. My class gave me a beautiful popcorn bowl that they made. They used their fingerprints to make popcorn and their name was written underneath the kernel. In the middle of the bowl it says "Mrs. Murillo you made our year pop!" I eat a lot of popcorn and pistachios for lunch and that is what they filled the bowl with. :) I am going to miss my class, it was such a fun year. The good news is that I will be moving to First Grade with 15 of them. My principal decided to move me to First Grade and I get to keep my class. The other 7 will be moving to the new school. It will be a busy summer getting everything I need ready, but I am so excited.
Last week we also watched my nephew's graduation. He was so cute in his little cap and gown. We then went out to dinner after his graduation. Word of advice, if it looks like it is going to rain, don't sit out on the patio. Instead of waiting for a table inside, we decided to grab the outside patio table. Within 10 minutes, it began to rain. We had to huddle together under the table umbrella to stay halfway dry. Our backsides were totally soaked from the rain. The kids thought it was the greatest dinner ever.
