Last Friday we had Lauren's 9th birthday party. It turned out to be an 8 hour birthday event..We started out at the neighborhood pool for some swimming fun. Then we all got changed and the kids played football in the backyard. We had some hot dogs, hamburgers, watermelon, pasta salad, and chips for dinner. After dinner we headed on down to the track to shoot off our rocket. Unfortunately the first one we fired got stuck in a tree on the walking path that is nearby. Brett and David worked for about 30 minutes to get the rocket down, I won't go into any details about that. :) Thank goodness the next launch was clear of any accidents. We then went back and did the rocket shaped pinata. The kids had such a great time as I did too enjoying the company of all my girlfriends. Thank you so much Jodi for helping me make Lauren's cake. I think it turned out awesome.
It is hard to believe Lauren is 9 already. She certainly is growing up. This is the first birthday party that she didn't want any games. She just wanted to have a "cookout" with her friends. I wonder what the 10th birthday party will involve.
